The EUC's
Michael L. Mezey Faculty and Community Research Center Lab
provides DePaul community with training, technical & research
assistance, access to data including various resources, and
internships & job opportunities for the interns. Located in
EUC’s Lincoln Park Office (Deitzgen 3100) the lab is readily
accessible to faculty, staff, interns, students, and community
residents in need of research services, professional development
and technical assistance. The lab is equipped with 16 Dell
workstations, a server that hosts EUC's website and has capacity
to host community sites, color and black & white printers,
scanner, accessories like digital cameras, portable projection
units, mapping / Geographic Information System (GIS) software,
statistical software, data processing & advanced analytical
tools, and graphic designing software. The Lab also houses a
variety of data including data from U.S. Census Bureau, City of
Chicago, EPA, ESRI, NIPC, Crime data from Chicago Police Dept.,
Chicago Housing Authority, Homeland Security, Chicago Public
Schools, Housing and Mortgage Disclosure Act (HMDA) data, and
building permit data.
Our Michael L. Mezey Faculty and Community Research Center Lab,
named for the former LA&S dean who helped create the 16-computer
Lab located in our Lincoln Park office, has undertaken a variety
of projects for DPU faculty and students, as well as external
users, including the community partners.
